Transcript: I chose the Cube because I like his music and the movies hes in. The Fridays are classics and whenever I would get gas at the gas station I would listen to It was a Good Day. Ice Cube's material has given me memories and thats why I chose him, he's like the "fam". His album Kill at Will was the first Hip-Hop EP to go both gold and platinum. His 1992 album The Predator which came out during the L.A. riots became the first album in history to debut at the top of the pop and R&B charts. He is known as one of the most influential rappers of all time being a pioneer and social figure for voicing the opinions of inner city people in his music. However not only is he a rap icon, he has also become one of Hollywoods most influential people. Between all of his work he has a net worth of $120 million. Ice Cube, through the course of his career, has become a actor, producer, rapper, writer, director, and creator of multiple television shows. He began his career in entertainment with his friend "Sir Jinx" when they formed the two man group C.I.A. He began to rise in popularity performing at events hosted by his new acquaintance Dr. Dre. Dre sensing that Ice Cube had talent, asked him to add his verses to other popular L.A. rappers tracks. His growing popularity and support from Dr. Dre got him to collaborate with Eazy-E and write his lyrics on a N.W.A album . By this time he became a full time N.W.A member and dropped the groups album "Straight outta Compton". Later he would split from the group and pursue his solo career. He made his acting debut in the movie "Boyz in The Hood". He has directed 19 movies and or T.V. series, acted in over 30 movies and even lent his voice to Call of Duty Black Ops. Life Ice Cube was born O'Shea Jackson on June 15, 1969 in South Central Los Angeles. His mother, Doris Jackson was a hospital clerk and his father Hosea Jackson was a groundskeeper at UCLA. His teen years were rough dealing with the violence in the Compton which took the life of his half sister who was murdered by her boyfriend. He picked up his love of making rhymes in his high school keyboarding class. He then went on to study at the Phoenix Institute of Technology majoring in architectural design.
