Transcript: There are many types of engineers such as military engineer,avionics engineer and an civil engineer. But the one I am interested in is an eletrical engineer . Electrical engineers do everything from designing cell phones to designing microwaves. Electrical engineers usually work regular business hours, but may have to be on-call or work irregular hours to meet project deadlines. They usually work in offices, but also work in laboratories, workshops or on-site at power stations or building projects. Electrical engineers earn somewhere between 70,000 to 150,000 dollars on average per year. Some more experienced engineers may surpass the average limit of 150,000. Post secondary institutions that I would recommend are UBC and SFU both of these universitys offer courses which you can take to become an engineer. Working Conditions And Earnings Introduction Electrical engineers use math and science to create all the new technology we use today.They may be involved designing circuits and or control systems. They work around 5-6 days a week while sometimes going overtime. The work is not that hard but it has to be done under lots of pressure.
