The cast of Book Of Mormon Performing "Hello" at the Tony awards in 2012 By Trey Parker & Matt Stone The Book of Mormon opened on 24 March 2011 on Broadway. Since then it has toured the US twice and a production opened in Chicago and London. I got to see it in 2013 in Chicago when it starred Ben Platt who plays Benji in Pitch Perfect. Awards Summary "Hello" Book Of Mormon The Book Of Mormon was created by the same people as south park. The Book Of Mormon is about two young missionaries that get sent to Uganda to try and convert people to Mormon religion. One of the missionaries, Elder Price, is enthusiastic and very dedicated to his religion while the other, Elder Cunningham, tends to lie a lot which ends up getting him into a lot of trouble. When they arrive in Africa they realise that their task may be harder than they originally thought when they are met with issues like poverty, violence and AIDs. Elder Cunningham had never read the Book of Mormon so in order to get the citizens of Uganda to convert he makes up stories, combining the bits and pieces he knew of the Book of Mormon with bits of science fiction.
