Transcript: Autumn The Four Seasons! Winter Children's favorite season!(: They get their long vacation away from school. The warm temperatures of summer allow kids to swim, fish, and spend much time having fun outside! Fireflies are common during summer as they explore around blooming trees. The holiday that takes place in Summer is Independence Day on 4th of July. The Four Seasons Song! In this season, leaves start turning yellow, red, and orange. As time starts getting closer to winter, leaves begin to fall off the trees. This season consists mostly of chilly evenings. Two holidays that take place during Autumn are: Halloween and Thanksgiving. Our weather system consists of four seasons. They are: Autumn, Winter, Spring, and Summer Seasons,Seasons,Seasons!(: In many places, Spring season is accompanied by large amounts of rain. Snow is quickly disappearing, colorful flowers are blooming, and leaves are reappering on the trees again. Baby birds are hatching, many animals are being born, and others are coming out of hibernation. The holiday that takes place during spring is Easter. Winter consists of snowy, cold weather! So Does Season By: Theresa May 3 October 2023 Fosters Techniques Patterns can be used to interpret the meaning of seasons Some are straight forward while others are ironic Shorthand can not be used with interpreting seasons Seasons can develope tone, even when not directly stated Overview Meaning of the Seasons: Meaning Spring: youth rejoicing Summer: passion love adulthood fullfillment Autumn: decline middle age tiredness Winter: anger hatred old age/death The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis Application Winter Winter illustrates the White Witch’s malevolent actions The White Witch “has made a magic so that it is always winter in Narnia,” and this perpetual winter reflects her oppressive rule (Lewis 20). The desolate and snowy landscapes of Narnia serve as the embodiment of the Witch’s hatred and fear of the suppression of her authority Foster uses the patterns of seasons to classify winter with “resentment and death” (Foster 186) She embodies death as she gains her power from others. Spring Contrasts winter The arrival of spring symbolizes the restoration of balance and life. As Aslan arrives, he makes “winter meet its death” and allows the citizens of Narnia to “have spring again” (Lewis 41). In literature, Foster claims spring allows characters to “rejoice in its fullness” (Foster 187). Spring Tone Foster uses seasons as another way to develop the tone of a literary work. The seasons reveal his tone, rather than explicitly through his dialogue. Although Aslan’s character is quiet and reserved, “we know from his tone what he feels" (Foster 184). During winter, his silence creates an atmosphere of desolation. Aslan’s accompaniment of flowers and thawing ice shifts the tone to warm and hopeful. Through his resurrection, symbolizing the end of winter, he has a sense of justice, interpreted from his lively roar. Tone The changing of seasons Original Idea These changes serve as symbols of renewal, inevitable change, passage of time, and change tones of the literary work The change between the contrasting seasons of winter and spring signifies the ideologies of hope and freedom, while also symbolizing the renewal of life Aslan symbolizes Jesus Aslans “Resurrection comes very near the spring equinox, the death of winter and the beginning of renewed life” (Foster 191). This change in season changes the tone from desolate to hopeful while also illustrating the renewal of Narnia. Another example

Initial Initial The Earth has seasons because it rotates around the sun and only parts of the Earth are close to the sun regulary at different times of the year. Complete and Scientific Answer Complete Answer The Earth is at a 23.5 degree tilt at all times, and as the earth rotates and revolves around the sun, different parts of the Earth are closer to the sun at different parts of the 365 day revolution. Since parts of the Earth are closer to the Earth at specific times of the year, we get seasons. Reflection on Learning Reflection I learned as a child that the Earth has seasons due to a rotation around the sun, so it was cool to see this again and learn about it in more depth. I find it interesting that the Earth moves at a specific way that we are able to have life.
