He was committed to serve 7 years but during the second contracted typhoid fever. The Calvary let him leave his duties early as along as he completed an art class at an art school. The life of Claude Monet Monet died December 5th 1926 from lung cancer at the age of 86. Monet's was one on the many founders on the impressionist movement.
